What Are G. Lewis Veneers?
G. Lewis Veneers are Dr. Lewis’ specially designed no-prep porcelain veneers. The veneers are about the size of a contact lens and are thin enough to fit on the tooth without necessitating the removal of natural tooth structure. They are made of lustrous, ultra-thin yet durable porcelain that looks amazingly natural. Dr. Lewis’ artistry with these no-prep porcelain veneers attracts patients from The Woodlands, Houston, and other Texas communities, and even from all over the world, seeking advanced cosmetic dentistry. G. Lewis Veneers vs. Traditional Porcelain Veneers
Both traditional veneers and G. Lewis Veneers are designed for durability, superior aesthetic results, and two-visit smile makeovers. G. Lewis Veneers provide many of the same benefits as porcelain veneers, but they do not require the time commitment of Invisalign®, and, unlike teeth bleached with teeth whitening, veneers are not prone to discoloration, even over an extended period of time.
However, Dr. Lewis recommends G. Lewis Veneers instead of traditional veneers whenever possible, since they are superior, in many ways, to both traditional veneers and other types of no-prep porcelain veneers. Dr. Lewis chose ultra-thin, highly-translucent porcelain from which to craft the veneers. Therefore, the tooth does not need to be reduced to accommodate the veneer, and the veneers do not add extra bulk to the teeth. Placement of G. Lewis Veneers is much more comfortable than placement of traditional porcelain veneers.
G. Lewis Veneers: Process
If you have delayed pursuing a smile makeover with porcelain veneers because you are worried about the placement process, consider G. Lewis Veneers. The process is remarkably comfortable, takes just two office visits, and provides a beautiful, luminous new smile. G. Lewis Veneers are bonded to the surface of the tooth without the need to shave down the enamel, which distinguishes them from traditional porcelain veneers.
Placement of No-Prep Dental Veneers
Placing Dr. Lewis’ no-prep porcelain dental veneers requires two visits to our office in The Woodlands.
During the first visit, Dr. Lewis makes a mold of the teeth and mouth. Unlike placement of traditional porcelain veneers, anesthesia is usually not necessary, the teeth are not reduced, and temporary veneers are not placed. Dr. Lewis sends the mold to the dental laboratory that will craft the veneers.
When the G. Lewis Veneers are ready (usually in about a week), patients return to our office for their second visit to have the dental veneers placed. In this visit, Dr. Lewis bonds the veneers directly to the surface of the tooth, adjusts their fit with the teeth and bite, and buffs them to a shine. The final result is a luminous new smile that looks and feels indistinguishable from the natural teeth.

Am I a Candidate for G. Lewis Veneers?
Although Dr. Lewis recommends no-prep G. Lewis Veneers when possible, traditional porcelain veneers are the best option for some patients. If there are dark stains on the teeth, the thin porcelain used in G. Lewis Veneers may not adequately conceal the discoloration. For patients experiencing teeth protrusion, it may be necessary to reduce the teeth and place traditional veneers, in order to avoid a bulky appearance. During your consultation at our office near Houston, Dr. Lewis will determine whether you are a candidate for G. Lewis Veneers, and, if you are not, which option will best transform your smile.
